Lee Clark delighted by Blackpool performance

Blackpool boss Lee Clark believes that his team are capable of staying in the Championship following their 1-1 draw with fellow strugglers Bolton.

Blackpool boss Lee Clark has praised his team for their display during Saturday's 1-1 draw with Bolton Wanderers.

The Seasiders looked on course for only their second win of the season yesterday afternoon before an 82nd-minute equaliser for Bolton saw the spoils shared at Bloomfield Road.

Despite his side being 10 points adrift of safety in the table, Clark believes that Blackpool will give themselves a good chance of staying in the Championship if they continue to perform like they did against the Trotters.

"I was delighted with many aspects of the game. That performance is the standard-bearer now and if we produce games like that between now and the end of the season we will gain points on the teams above us," he told BBC Sport.

"We've got to get wins. I'm even more confident now than when I walked in because I believe the players are fitter and they have more confidence."

Blackpool are back in Championship action next Saturday when they make the trip to fellow strugglers Rotherham United.
