Lee Clark admits his side were "scared" during Wigan Athletic loss

Blackpool were "scared" of Wigan Athletic as they lost their relegation six-pointer, manager Lee Clark admits.

Blackpool manager Lee Clark has admitted that his players were scared of the occasion as they lost 3-1 to Wigan Athletic in the Championship this afternoon.

Goals from Kim Bo-kyung, Harry Maguire and James McLean won the match for the Latics and Clark believes that his side looked scared of their relegation rivals during the first half.

He told Blackpool's official website: "It was a victory that was deserved for Wigan, there are no complaints from me. We didn't deserve anything from the game, we played with too much fear and didn't play our normal type of aggressive game at home on that pitch. We gave three awful goals away.

"The three wins we've had have been with clean sheets, and that's how you win games. We looked so fearful in the first-half, it looked like the game in terms of being up against our closest rivals was too much."

Blackpool sit bottom of the table, 15 points adrift of safety.
