Blackpool team to receive £5m bonus for reaching top flight

Blackpool winger Matt Phillips says that a proposed £5m bonus is an extra "incentive" for the players to defeat West Ham United in the playoff final at Wembley.

Blackpool winger Matt Phillips has revealed that he and his teammates will get a £5m bonus if they are successful in their bid to reach the Premier League.

Ian Holloway's side take on West Ham United at Wembley on Saturday in the playoff final but only one can advance to the top flight of English football.

"[The bonus] is an extra incentive for us," The Express quotes Phillips as saying.

Despite the Seasiders' recent run in the Premier League, the Hammers are favourites to nab the third promotion spot alongside Southampton and Reading.
