Blackpool midfielder Ludovic Sylvestre feels that playing quality opposition brings out the best in the players at the club.
The Seasiders crashed out of the FA Cup at the third-round stage as they lost their replay against Fulham 2-1 in extra-time.
"I think we have to take it as an example of what we're capable of and keep going," he told Blackpool's official website.
"Although we didn't win, we did very well and now we have another big opponent coming up in Cardiff City. Hopefully we can put in another good performance and get a good result.
"It's always easier for us to play against teams who try to play. As you can see from the Fulham game, they tried to play as well so it became a good game for the fans to watch and also for us to play in."
Blackpool host Championship leaders Cardiff City on Saturday as they look to end a run of seven games without a win.
