Preview: Blackpool vs. Birmingham City

Sports Mole takes a closer look at both sides ahead of Saturday's clash between Blackpool and Birmingham City.

Blackpool go in search of just their second win of the Championship season when Birmingham City visit Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

Despite finding themselves 10 points away from safety at the bottom of the table, Lee Clark's side have produced a couple of promising displays in recent weeks in the form of draws with Rotherham United and Bolton Wanderers.

However, the tough challenges keep on coming for Blackpool ahead of their meeting with Birmingham, who have not lost any of their previous five games.

Clark may be forgiven for looking at Gary Rowett's situation with envy, having been sacked by Birmingham prior to the new manager's arrival in late October.

A 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest last weekend took Birmingham up to 17th, and confidence is high among supporters heading into a hectic Christmas schedule.

Birmingham re-signed Nikola Zigic on a free transfer this week, but the Serbian will not be available to take on Blackpool on Saturday.

Darren O'Dea became Clark's 10th signing on Friday after joining on a short-term deal, but it is unlikely that the Irish defender will be included in the squad.

Blackpool:

Recent form: LLDLDD

Possible starting lineup: Lewis, Foley, Nosworthy, Clarke, Kennedy, Eagles, O'Keefe, O'Hara, Perkins, Murphy, Delfouneso

Birmingham:

Recent form: LDWDWW

Possible starting lineup: Randolph, Caddis, Robinson, Morrison, Grounds, Gleeson, Davis, Cotterill, Shinnie, Gray, Donaldson

Sports Mole says: 0-2
