Blackpool staged a dramatic late comeback to beat Coventry 2-1 at Bloomfield Road this evening.
Goals in the last three minutes from Kevin Phillips and Gary Taylor-Fletcher cancelled out Conor Thomas's opener to earn Blackpool all three points.
The home side almost took the lead in the first half, only to be denied by a goal-line clearance courtesy of Coventry's Cyrus Christie.
Bottom-placed Coventry then came close through Nimely's shot, forcing Gilks to make a save.
Gilks then prevented the deadlock being broken early in the second half too, making a smart stop from McSheffrey's effort.
Coventry finally did take the lead just before the hour mark, however, when Thomas shot past Gilks.
Just as the relegation strugglers may have been contemplating a valuable away win, however, they were hit with a double blow.
First, in the 87th minute, Roman Bednar found Kevin Phillips inside the six-yard box, and the clinical striker made no mistake.
Then, just minutes later, Gilks made another top save to deny Sammy Clingan before, at the other end, Matt Phillips's deep cross found Taylor-Fletcher, who hammered the ball home.
