Brighton & Hove Albion held by Blackpool

Brighton & Hove Albion are forced to settle for a point in their Championship clash with Blackpool as they are held to a 0-0 draw at the Amex Stadium.

A strong defensive display from Blackpool earned the visitors their second point of the season as they drew 0-0 with Brighton & Hove Albion in their Championship clash at the Amex Stadium.

Adrian Colunga had the chance to threaten for his side early on when he fired a low shot at goal from just outside the box, but Joe Lewis was there to make the stop.

The visitors came into the game and were almost through on goal as Ishmael Miller burst forward, and Brighton were grateful to a covering tackle from Lewis Dunk to deny the striker.

Brighton threatened when they won a free kick just outside the box, and Joe Bennett's effort looped over the wall, but went just the wrong side of the post with Lewis scrambling.

In the second half, the home side began to press further and Danny Holla forced Lewis into a good save when he launched a volley at goal from inside the box.

Brighton worked the ball well in the final third as Andrew Crofts beat a man and found Sam Baldock, who in turn teed up Colunga, but his effort was well blocked by Donervon Daniels.

The visitors came close when Miller burst free down the middle and was through on goal, but David Stockdale narrowed the angle and made an impressive stop from close range.

At the other end the home side went within inches of taking the lead when Dunk's header from Jake Forster-Caskey's corner was cleared off the line by Nathan Delfouneso.

Brighton made a late surge in the game but couldn't find a breakthrough and were forced to settle for a point.
