The home side had the better of the possession in the opening exchanges, but found themselves a goal behind with nine minutes played.
Veteran Roma attacker Francesco Totti picked out Alessandro Florenzi inside the area and the 21-year-old converted the ball into the bottom right hand corner of the net.
Roma's lead would only last eight minutes, though, thanks to former AC Milan striker Alberto Gilardino, who found the net from close range to restore parity.

However, just one minute later, Roma were back in front when Osvaldo headed in a cross from Miralem Pjanic.
The home side responded positively to falling behind for a second time and drew themselves level again with 26 minutes played. Manolo Gabbiadini was the scorer, sending the ball beyond Gianluca Curci in the Roma goal from 12 yards out.
Gabbiadini was substituted at the start of the second half, but his replacement, Cristian Pasquato, put the hosts in front for the first time nine minutes after the restart when he sent the ball into the roof of the net from the edge of the area.

Roma ensured that they would be heading back to the capital with a point thanks to Greek defender Panagiotis Tachtsidis, who headed in Totti's free kick 16 minutes from time.
