Sunderland have once again been linked with a move for out-of-favour Bologna forward Robert Aquafresca.
Black Cats boss Paolo di Canio is thought to be an admirer of the 25-year-old Italian, who scored three goals in 13 appearances during a loan spell with Spanish outfit Levante last season.
According to Football Italia, Acquafresca does not feature in the plans of coach Stefano Pioli, which has not only alerted Sunderland but also Hull City.
The former Italian Under-21 international came through the youth ranks at Inter Milan in 2005, but spent time at four different clubs before completing a permanent move to the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara in 2011.
Serie A side Livorno are also rumoured to be interested.
