Bolton Wanderers chairman Phil Gartside wants to discuss the club's managerial position with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, according to reports.
The Championship club sacked Owen Coyle last week after a poor start to the season and Gartside has targeted Solskjaer as his replacement, according to The Telegraph.
Solskjaer is currently in charge of Norwegian club Molde FK and it remains to be seen whether they will allow Solskjaer to discuss the position with Bolton if they are approached.
The same newspaper also reports that former Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy was Bolton's initial number one target but Gartside has made the decision to move for an up-and-coming manager.
