Gary Cahill appeal successful

Bolton Wanderers centre-back Gary Cahill has won his appeal against the red card that was handed to him against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday afternoon.

The England international was handed his marching orders after 15 minutes for hauling down Scott Parker, a decision which left Wanderers manager Owen Coyle "angry".

Wanderers confirmed yesterday that they had lodged an appeal with the Football Association against referee Stuart Attwell's decision.

Having reviewed the incident, the FA have opted to overturn Attwell's verdict.

Cahill, 25, will now be available for Bolton's home fixture against Aston Villa this weekend.
