Reports claim that Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba is to be discharged from hospital later this week.

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba will reportedly be discharged from hospital later this week.

The 23-year-old has been a patient at the London Chest Hospital since suffering a cardiac arrest against Tottenham Hotspur last month.

His progress has surprised the doctors that have been treating him, bringing forward the possibility of an early discharge, according to Sky Sports News.

Muamba recently tweeted a photo of himself from his hospital bed, while also thanking those that have passed on their best wishes.

Some reports have even claimed that the former England youth international could return to training before the end of the season.
