Chris Eagles scored late on as Bolton Wandereres recorded a 2-0 win over Derby County at the Reebok Stadium this evening.
It was Bolton who came closest to opening the scoring after six minutes, but Eagles fired wide before Lee Chung-yong struck past the post moments later.
Derby's best chance of the opening period came to Jamie Ward after 10 minutes, but Adam Bogdan got down well to thwart the danger.
Marvin Sordell was next to come close for the home side after 20 minutes, but the Team GB striker's header just moved wide of the post.
Chances remained few and far between in the latter stages with the pair entering the break level.
Ward had the first real chance of the second period for Derby, but his effort was smartly blocked by Zat Knight.
Eagles remained the danger man for Bolton, but he failed to find the target despite a host of shooting opportunities.
Benik Afobe remained a threat for the Trotters, but his effort after 70 minutes was smartly pushed wide by Frank Fielding.
Bolton did eventually take the lead after 77 minutes when the skipper Kevin Davies headed past Fielding.
There was time for one last chance, however, and it was Eagles who secured the three points with a clever finish from close range.
