Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of Matthew Mills from Leicester City for an undisclosed fee.
The 25-year-old had been frozen out at Leicester following a falling out with manager Nigel Pearson last season.
Discussing the acquisition, Wanderers boss Owen Coyle admitted that he was pleased to add a player with vast experience at Championship level to his squad.
"Matt is a player who has a high level of experience in the Championship. We are delighted to have made this acquisition as he adds strength and quality into the mix," Coyle told the club's official website.
"He is 25-years-old and has already captained teams at this level, so we know what he will bring to the squad, both on and off the pitch."
The centre-back made 31 appearances for the Foxes last season.
