Former Sunderland striker Victor Anichebe has been linked with a move to Championship outfit Bolton Wanderers.
According to the Sunderland Echo, the Trotters view the free agent as a potential replacement for Gary Madine, who joined Cardiff City last month.
Anichebe netted three goals for the Black Cats last term and left the club at the end of the season when they were relegated from the Premier League.
The 29-year-old went on to sign a short-term deal with Chinese outfit Beijing Enterprises, which has now expired, leaving him free to find another club outside of the transfer window.
Anichebe rose through the ranks of the Everton youth setup and spent seven years at Goodison Park before joining West Bromwich Albion.
