Borussia Dortmund defender Erik Durm has been ruled out for six weeks due to a knee injury.
The 23-year-old, who is yet to feature for the Bundesliga outfit this season, underwent an operation on the problem earlier today and will now be sidelined for more than a month.
The injury kept the seven-time Germany international out of the world champions' recent Euro 2016 qualifying victories over Poland and Scotland as Joachim Low's side moved top of their group.
"Borussia Dortmund left-back Erik Durm was today operated on. Dr Jurgen Eichhorn removed inflamed tissue from the knee of Durm during surgery," read a statement on the club's official website.
The full-back made 28 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring one goal.
