Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been dropped from the team just minutes before kickoff in this evening's Champions League group match against Sporting Lisbon.
The 27-year-old, who has been linked to Manchester City and Real Madrid, is understood to have been initially selected due to reports that his kit was laid out in the dressing room.
However, according to journalist Stefan Bienkowski, Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke confirmed that Aubameyang had been left out for "internal reasons".
Watzke added that the decision to drop the forward was made by head coach Thomas Tuchel, who has taken the Gabon international out of the squad altogether.
Tuchel later confirmed to reporters that Aubameyang will be suspended until tomorrow.
