Nuri Sahin out for "up to three weeks"

Borussia Dortmund confirm that midfielder Nuri Sahin is ruled out for up to three weeks with an ankle injury.

Borussia Dortmund midfielder Nuri Sahin has been ruled out for "up to three weeks" with an ankle injury.

The injury has compounded a disappointing weekend for the German side after their 2-0 defeat to Borussia Monchengladbach in the Bundesliga on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp's team endured a difficult game away to Monchengladbach, with Sahin picking up the injury late in the contest and eventually coming off.

Dortmund confirmed the injury via their twitter account, tweeting: "Sahin has suffered a partial crack of the outer ligament in the right ankle and will be out up to three weeks."

Dortmund sit in second place in the Bundesliga, one point behind leaders Bayern Munich.
