Felipe Santana proud of Borussia Dortmund spell

Borussia Dortmund defender Felipe Santana admits that he is proud of his "five golden years" at the club as he prepares to leave this summer.

Felipe Santana has admitted that he is proud of his spell at Borussia Dortmund as he prepares for a summer move away from the club.

The central defender was an unused substitute in Saturday's 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Champions League final.

Santana claims that Dortmund should be proud of their efforts this season and admitted that negotiations have begun in regards to his exit. However, the Brazilian believes he is leaving with his head held high after "five golden years" at the club.

"We have no reason to be sorry about this defeat," he told ESPN Brasil.

"We had many adventures along the way and we felt we could have won, but the best team won, the team that knew how to execute their chances, Bayern Munich.

"Negotiations are underway but I haven't decided yet. But surely next season I will watch Dortmund on television. Those were five golden years. I came to a team that were resurrecting in German football and I am now leaving through the front door."

The 27-year-old joined Dortmund in 2008 from Brazilian side Figueirense.
