Jurgen Klopp: 'I am not going to throw in the towel'

Borussia Dortmund manager Jurgen Klopp insists that he will not quit the struggling German giants after another defeat kept them in the Bundesliga relegation zone.

Jurgen Klopp has insisted that he will not quit Borussia Dortmund following their latest Bundesliga defeat.

Last season's runners-up suffered a 2-1 reverse at Werder Bremen on Saturday to ensure that they would be in the bottom two over Christmas.

Klopp is happy to take responsibility for a mammoth fall from grace which has left him and his teammates feeling like "total idiots", but has vowed to turn things around.

"It was just a reflection of our whole season so far," he told ZDF television. "We had a very poor first half.

"It follows suit that we are standing here like total idiots. I am totally responsible and I am not just going to throw in the towel and follow everything from a distance.

"I can promise that we're going to put right what we've done wrong and we're going to be angry hunters. It's going to be far harder to beat us in the second half of the season."

Dortmund will drop to the foot of the table if Freiburg beat Hannover on Sunday afternoon.
