Team News: Shinji Kagawa returns for Borussia Dortmund against Schalke 04

Shinji Kagawa returns to the Borussia Dortmund side for the Ruhr derby against Schalke 04.

Shinji Kagawa has returned to the Borussia Dortmund side for the Ruhr derby against Schalke 04 at Signal Iduna Park.

The Japan international was a substitute in the defeat to Juventus in the Champions League on Tuesday evening, but he replaces Ciro Immobile in an attacking reshuffle which will see Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang lead the line.

Injured duo Kevin Kampl and Sokratis Papastathopoulos both miss out for the hosts, but Neven Subotic is back in defence alongside Mats Hummels.

Schalke boss Roberto Di Matteo welcomes back Klaas-Jan Huntelaar following his domestic suspension and recent injury problems, while there is also a start for Kevin-Prince Boateng.

Max Meyer, Tranquillo Barnetta and Felix Platte are all forced to settle for a place on the visiting bench as Schalke look to complete the double over their rivals.

Dortmund: Weidenfeller, Kirch, Subotic, Hummels, Schmelzer, Sahin, Gundogan, Mkhitaryan, Kagawa, Reus, Aubameyang

Schalke: Wellenreuther, Uchida, Howedes, Neustädter, Nastasic, Fuchs, Aogo, Höger, Boateng, Choupo-Moting, Huntelaar
