Borussia Monchengladbach have completed the signing of former Germany Under-21 international Jonas Hofmann from Borussia Dortmund.
The 23-year-old will swap Bundesliga clubs for an undisclosed fee when the transfer window opens and sign a four-and-a-half year contract with Monchengladbach until the end of the 2019-20 season.
"I've had at BVB, in this unique club with this incredible environment, a beautiful, emotional and successful time," Hofmann told Dortmund's website.
"It is my personal wish to address today a thank you to my teammates, all BVB employees and the fans who have always supported me."
Monchengladbach's sporting director Max Eberl added on their website: "The addition of Jonas Hofmann will help compensate for the loss of wingers to injury during the second half of the season. However, we mainly see this transfer as a long-term improvement of our squad."
Hofmann, who spent the majority of last season on loan with Mainz, has 48 Bundesliga appearances to his name.
