Bournemouth's new recruit David Brooks says that he is ready for the challenge of stepping up to the Premier League.

Bournemouth's new recruit David Brooks has said that he is relishing the opportunity to play in the Premier League.

The 20-year-old, who joined the Cherries on a four-year deal from Sheffield United, insisted that he is ready for the challenge of making the step up to the top flight.

"I can't wait for the challenge [of the Premier League]," he told reporters at a Bournemouth press conference.

"I've come here to play and hopefully I can make an impression in the coming weeks, cement my place within the group and try and get some game time during the season."

"As a player you want to be at the highest level as possible so the first step is to play in the Premier League."

Previous reports suggest that Brooks cost the Cherries an initial £10.5m, potentially rising to £11.5m if various add-ons are triggered.
