Bournemouth chairman 'feared for safety' after heated Wolves battle

Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn says that he feared for his own safety after Saturday's heated Championship affair at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Bournemouth chairman Jeff Mostyn has revealed that he feared for his own safety after Saturday's heated Championship match at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The Cherries overturned a 1-0 deficit to win 2-1 at Molineux as Wolves, who lost their fifth game in a row, were incensed at the two red cards they received in the game.

The home chairman Steve Morgan confronted referee Mike Jones and has since been charged by the Football Association.

Mostyn said that he received a lot of abuse from Wolves supporters after the game and had to be escorted into a car.

"It was very intimidating," he told BBC Radio Solent. "I managed to get into a car that their chief executive Jez Moxey provided for me because I had a lot of abuse myself after the game."

Bournemouth are unbeaten in 10 league games and third in the Championship table.
