Bournemouth defender Adam Smith will not play again this year because of a knee injury.
The Cherries announced on Monday that the 27-year-old full-back would miss up to three months of action because of the problem.
Smith suffered the injury in the first half of Bournemouth’s defeat at Newcastle before the international break.
In a statement, Bournemouth said the injury “is not as bad as was first feared” and Smith has already had a procedure to remedy the problem.
Former Tottenham man Smith has made over 150 appearances for Bournemouth since joining in 2014.
