Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has revealed that he has spoken to each player to ensure that they remain focused on their attempt to win automatic promotion to the Premier League.
The Cherries take on Bolton Wanderers at Dean Court this evening, knowing that a victory will all but guarantee them a place in the top flight next season.
Results for their promotion rivals on Saturday were favourable to Howe's men, but the Bournemouth boss insists that he is not getting carried away yet.
"We had to speak to the players individually and collectively to refocus the mind. We're still in control of ourselves and the power is with us," he told the Daily Mail.
"I have maintained all along results elsewhere do not interest me. there is nothing I can do to control them. All we can do is concentrate and prepare for our game which promises to be a tough encounter. Other results make no difference because our aim is always to try to win every game.
"It's going to be exciting. We need to make sure we do our bit. It's a night game in front of our own supporters. It's going to be a special occasion. Being at the top of the Championship has been a rollercoaster but an enjoyable ride."
Bournemouth are currently second in the table with a game in hand and a better goal difference than third-placed Middlesbrough.
