Bournemouth continue winning run at West Bromwich Albion

Charlie Daniels's 87th-minute penalty sees Bournemouth win 2-1 at West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Eddie Howe's Bournemouth have made it three straight wins in the Premier League by beating nine-man West Bromwich Albion 2-1 at The Hawthorns.

Adam Smith sent the visitors into a 52nd-minute lead, but it did appear that the Baggies, who had James McClean sent off in the first half, would be heading for a share of the spoils after Gareth McAuley netted 11 minutes from time.

Bournemouth had other ideas, however, netting three minutes from time through Charlie Daniels, who converted from the penalty spot.

The game's first major incident occurred 11 minutes before the break when McClean was given his marching orders for a poor challenge on Smith during a period where the away side were in control of the possession.

It was level at the break, but Howe's side led early in the second half when Smith found the bottom corner from inside the box.

West Brom were on terms in the 79th minute when McAuley converted a corner from Craig Gardner, but there was to be late drama at The Hawthorns as Daniels won it from the penalty spot after Dan Gosling had been tripped inside the box.

It then got worse for the hosts in the fifth minute of injury time when Salomon Rondon was given his marching orders following an altercation with Gosling.

Bournemouth, who entered the match off the back of wins over Chelsea and Manchester United, remain 14th in the Premier League table, but they are now five points clear of the relegation zone.

West Brom, meanwhile, remain 13th after losing their seventh league game of the campaign.
