Bournemouth confirm Sylvain Distin signing on one-year deal

Bournemouth confirm the signing of former Everton defender Sylvain Distin on a one-year deal.

Bournemouth have confirmed the signing of former Everton defender Sylvain Distin.

The Frenchman, 37, has penned a one-year deal with the Premier League newcomers after being released by the Toffees at the end of last season.

Distin spent six seasons with Everton and made over 200 appearances for the club.

"It's amazing at my age to still be [in the Premier League] - that's going to be an amazing challenge," he told Bournemouth's official website. "It's a tough one, I'm fully aware of it, but very exciting and there's no better place to be."

Distin has become the Cherries' sixth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Artur Boruc, Adam Federici, Josh King, Tyrone Mings and Christian Atsu.
