Brazil legend Pele has expressed his concerns about the 2014 World Cup finals taking place in his home country.

It has been reported that transport systems and stadia are far from complete for the tournament in three years' time.

"It is sad and it worries me that we have to go through this even though we knew eight years ago that the World Cup was going to be held in Brazil," said Pele.

"We have problems with transportation and communications, but the government will do everything necessary to get things ready."

Rio de Janeiro will host the Olympic Games in 2016.
