Scottish League One roundup: Stranraer leave it late but stay top

Sports Mole rounds up Saturday's action from Scottish League One as Stranraer stay top of the table thanks to a late winner against Stirling Albion.

League One leaders Stranraer left it late as an 86th-minute goal from Frank McKeown rescued them a 1-0 win over bottom side Stirling Albion at Stair Park.

Greenock Morton beat Forfar Athletic in the second-versus-third clash, with goals from Joe Mckee and Peter MacDonald either side of an effort from Danny Denholm enough to give Jim Duffy's side a win that lifts them above Forfar and into second.

Elsewhere, Airdrieonians managed a 1-1 draw with Brechin City after Jamie Bain's goal cancelled out Alan Trouten's opener, while second-half strikes from Andrew Geggan and David Hopkirk gave Dunfermline Athletic a 2-0 win over Ayr United.

Peterhead beat eighth-placed Stenhousemuir 2-0 courtesy of goals either side of half time from Cameron Kerr and Kevin Dzierawski.

Results in full: Airdrieonians 1-1 Brechin City, Ayr United 0-2 Dunfermline Athletic, Forfar Athletic 1-2 Greenock Morton, Peterhead 2-0 Stenhousemuir, Stranraer 1-0 Stirling Albion.
