Half-Time Report: Brentford, Stevenage all square

Already-relegated Stevenage hold Championship-bound Brentford to a 0-0 half-time draw at Griffin Park.

Already-relegated Stevenage have held Championship-bound Brentford to a 0-0 half-time draw at Griffin Park this afternoon.

Boro fashioned the first chance of the afternoon, as Michael Doughty's audacious lob dropped narrowly wide of goalkeeper David Button's post on nine minutes.

With neither side having much to play for, chances were at a premium throughout the first half, but substitute Kevin O'Connor would have marked his 500th Bees appearance with a goal in the closing stages of the half if not for the intervention of Jason Day.

The 32-year-old's near-post header was rebuffed by the shot-stopper on the stroke of half time as both sides shared the spoils at the break.
