Brentford rise to 15th with win over Wolverhampton Wanderers

Brentford beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0 in the Championship thanks to strikes from Marco Djuricin and Philipp Hofmann.

Brentford have won their second match in a row by defeating Wolverhampton Wanderers 2-0.

Alan Judge, who scored twice in Brentford's 2-0 win over Rotherham United, had two shots blocked early in the proceedings before Marco Djuricin's shot was saved by Emiliano Martinez.

The Austrian international opened the scoring in the 17th minute when his strike found the top right corner.

Wolves had chances to equalise before half time but Sheyi Ojo's shot was saved before Benik Afobe shot wide.

The Bees looked to double their lead in the second as half Djuricin's shot was blocked before Judge forced Martinez into another save.

Just two seasons ago, the teams were locked in a title race in League One, and this match was equally hard fought. Conor Coady tried to reply on the hour mark but David Button denied him.

Danny Batth then headed over from a Kevin McDonald corner.

Adam Le Fondre was next to have a go, but he was blocked by a defender with a second effort going into the arms of Button.

Philipp Hofmann made sure that the points would go back to London in the 88th minute when his shot hit the back of the net.
