Brighton & Hove Albion boss Chris Hughton says that January signing Jurgen Locadia is ready to make an appearance in his first-team squad.

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Chris Hughton has suggested that Jurgen Locadia will be on the bench for Saturday's trip to Stoke City.

During the January transfer window, Locadia left PSV Eindhoven to move to the Seagulls for a club-record fee, but the Dutchman has been unable to make his debut due to injury.

However, Hughton has revealed that the forward is now ready to make his first appearance in the Premier League after taking part in a number of training sessions.

At a press conference, the 59-year-old told reporters: "He'll be in the squad for Saturday. He hasn't played any Under-23 matches but has had a good week and a half's training, going into the game.

"He's been out a period of time. Some can fit straight back in, others may take a little longer but the main thing he's fit and available."

Brighton currently sit three points clear of Stoke in the top-flight standings.
