Brighton & Hove Albion strike late to win

Substitutes Leroy Lita and David Lopez strike late to give Brighton & Hove Albion a 3-1 victory over Doncaster Rovers.

Brighton & Hove Albion scored two goals in the final five minutes to snatch all three points from Doncaster Rovers in a 3-1 win.

Doncaster were forced into a change before kickoff, as captain Rob Jones was injured in the warm-up and was replaced by Luke McCullough.

The home side almost took a third-minute lead when Mark Duffy floated his free-kick inches wide of the near post, but Brighton opened the scoring in the eight-minute when midfielder Jake Forster-Caskey sent a thunderous 35-yard strike into the top corner.

Good chances continued to fall Doncaster's way, as David Cotterill bent an effort just wide before Yun Suk-Young was thwarted by good work from Tomasz Kuszczak.

At the other end, Stephen Ward sent a header wide of the far post when well placed and Craig Conway forced Ross Turnbull into a good save.

The second half descended into a scrappy affair, as neither side managed to carve out any chances.

However, Doncaster did find a way back into the game when Chris Brown converted Duffy's free kick after 75 minutes.

Ashley Barnes almost struck back immediately for the Seagulls, but his shot rebounded back off the post.

With the game seemingly drifting towards a draw, substitute Leroy Lita pounced to slot home an 85th-minute goal from Barnes's overhead kick.

In stoppage time, fellow replacement David Lopez ensured the victory with a free kick.
