Brighton & Hove Albion board 'discuss' Sami Hyypia future

Brighton & Hove Albion chairman Tony Bloom and the rest of the board will reportedly discuss Sami Hyypia's future at a meeting today.

The Brighton & Hove Albion board will reportedly discuss the future of manager Sami Hyypia at a board meeting today.

Since arriving in the summer, former Liverpool centre-back and Bayer Leverkusen boss Hyypia has won just three games out of 20 in the Championship and recent back-to-back defeats to Fulham and Derby County have seen the Seagulls drop into the bottom three.

According to The Argus today, chairman Tony Bloom and the rest of the board will discuss whether Hyypia has long left, but the meeting is not expected to result in his immediate sacking.

Bloom last month put his faith in Hyypia, saying that the Finn would be in charge at The Amex for "many years to come".

Brighton take on fellow strugglers Millwall in what is a crucial game for both sides on Friday night, a match you can follow live here on Sports Mole from 7.15pm.
