Craig Mackail-Smith makes Peterborough United loan return

Craig Mackail-Smith rejoins former club Peterborough United from Brighton & Hove Albion on a one-month loan deal.

Brighton & Hove Albion forward Craig Mackail-Smith has rejoined former club Peterborough United on a one-month loan deal.

The 30-year-old, who scored 99 goals during his four years at London Road, will be reunited with former strike partner Aaron McLean who himself returned to the Posh on a short-term deal last week.

Mackail-Smith left Peterborough in 2011 after helping the club to three promotions, although he could only manage 21 goals in 91 Championship games for Brighton.

Today marks the last day for Football League clubs to push through any loan deals, with Norwich City winger Elliott Bennett having earlier extended his stay with the Seagulls by a further month.
