Watford have recorded back-to-back away wins for the first time this season after two first-half goals were enough to see off 10-man Bristol City at Ashton Gate.
City had started the brighter side but fell behind following a David James howler on 15 minutes.
Hornets left-back Carl Dickinson launched the ball high towards the penalty area and the former England keeper made a mess of an attempted punch-clear as the ball span off his glove and rolled gently into the empty net.
The lead was doubled five minutes later, as Jonathan Hogg's cross from the right was flicked on by Alex Kacaniklic to Sean Murray. The 18-year-old's initial shot was blocked by James, but immediately hit Murray on the way out and bobbled back over the line.
The game was ended as a contest 11 minutes from the end as Liam Fontaine was shown a straight red card for a professional foul on Hogg.
