Deadline day key events
First signing of Amorim era: Man United 'secure deal' for in-demand wonderkid
Manchester United have reportedly put a deal in place for Diego Leon, with the 17-year-old set to officially make the move to the 20-time English champions at the end of the 2024-25 campaign.
The teenager has represented Cerro Porteno's first team on 21 occasions, and he is regarded to be one of the best young talents in South America, with a number of clubs believed to be keen on his signature.
The speculation surrounding Leon and a potential move to Man United has intensified over the last few hours, and according to journalist Pedro Torres, a move has now been agreed.
Torres, via X, claims that "the groundwork" is in place, with Leon set to move to Old Trafford in the summer of 2025.
"We can do something" - Amorim addresses Man United's January plans
Manchester United head coach Ruben Amorim has said that he is still making decisions on the first-team squad at Old Trafford, but the Portuguese hinted that his club could be active during the January transfer window.
The Red Devils will have to make sales before they can buy in the winter due to financial restrictions, and it is understood that there are only eight or nine unsellable players in the current squad.
Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Christian Eriksen are among those out of contract next summer, while it has been suggested that the likes of Diogo Dalot, Marcus Rashford and Lisandro Martinez will be allowed to leave next year for the right price.
Amorim was questioned on his squad during Wednesday's press conference, as the Red Devils prepare for Thursday's Europa League contest against Czech outfit Viktoria Plzen.
Arsenal 'learn asking price' for Bologna star
Arsenal have reportedly learned the asking price of Bologna striker Santiago Castro.
The 20-year-old has spent nearly a year with Bologna after he completed a move from Velez Sarsfield in the January transfer window.
After making eight appearances in the second half of last season, Castro has gone on to establish himself as a regular fixture in the Bologna side this term.
Castro has started 13 of his 14 Serie A matches this season, scoring four goals and contributing three assists.
Where next? Three possible destinations for Man United star Rashford
Manchester United are reportedly open to selling Marcus Rashford as early as the January transfer window, with the Red Devils believed to be willing to listen to serious offers for the attacker.
The 27-year-old has scored three times since Ruben Amorim's arrival as head coach, with his numbers this season standing at seven goals and three assists in 23 appearances.
However, Rashford's overall performance level has again been disappointing, and it is difficult to see where he figures in Amorim's long-term plans considering the Portuguese's preferred 3-4-3 formation.
Man United are said to be willing to sell the England international 'at the least by the summer', but 'top offers' in the winter would also be considered, according to German journalist Florian Plettenberg.
"We will look at everything" - £41m-rated star addresses transfer talk amid Barca interest
Villarreal attacker Alex Baena has said that he would only consider leaving the Yellow Submarine for a certain number of clubs amid suggestions that Barcelona are keen on his services.
The 23-year-old has been in impressive form for Villarreal during the 2024-25 campaign, scoring three times and registering five assists in 14 La Liga appearances in all competitions.
Barcelona are believed to be interested in the Spain international, with the Catalan outfit thought to be considering making a move for him during next summer's transfer window.
Baena has called Villarreal 'the club of his life', but the attacker, who has been capped on eight occasions by European champions Spain, admitted that a top-10 club in world football would appeal to him.
'I was supposed to join another club': Jackson reveals U-Turn for Chelsea transfer
Chelsea forward Nicolas Jackson has revealed that there had been a plan for him to join a different European club.
Jackson completed a move to Stamford Bridge in June 2023 after the Blues were able to agree a £32m deal with Villarreal.
Although the Senegal international has since attracted criticism for his inconsistency in front of goal, he has now established himself as a key player for the Premier League giants.
A total of 25 goals and nine assists have come from 59 appearances in all competitions, Chelsea more than getting their monies worth for the 23-year-old.
Chelsea in talks to send Casadei to Serie A club?
Chelsea are allegedly already discussing a loan exit for Cesare Casadei ahead of the January transfer window.
The midfielder was surprisingly reintegrated back into the senior fold at the end of the summer courtesy of failing to secure a suitable exit away from Stamford Bridge.
However, the Italy Under-21 international has proven to be a useful option in cup competitions, making three starts and two substitute outings in the EFL Cup and Conference League.
Nevertheless, Chelsea have decisions to make over how they wish to progress with the 21-year-old's development courtesy of his lack of game time during 2024.
"We have the capacity to do that": Arteta makes January transfer admission
Mikel Arteta has claimed that Arsenal "have the capacity" to strengthen their first-team squad during the January transfer window.
The Gunners can be satisfied with their efforts during the first 15 matches of the Premier League, accumulating 29 points during that period.
However, sitting in third position in the table and six points adrift of leaders Liverpool, there is plenty of scope for improvement.
Arteta may have already been contemplating changes to his senior ranks before experiencing somewhat of an injury crisis, particularly in defence.
Barcelona 'cool interest' in goalscoring machine for 'one specific reason'
Barcelona have reportedly cooled their interest in Lille forward Jonathan David, with the Catalan outfit having reservations over whether the Canadian would fit into their style of play.
David, 24, is out of contract at Lille next summer, and he is unlikely to pen a new deal with his French outfit, with the striker set to become one of the most high-profile free agents on the market in the middle of 2025.
The Canada international has scored 101 goals and registered 21 assists in 206 appearances for his current side, including 17 goals and three assists in 23 outings in all competitions during the 2024-25 campaign.
David has faced Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid in the Champions League this season, scoring three times in the process, and he is allegedly being tracked by a number of major clubs.
Which eight or nine players are unsellable at Man United?
Manchester United reportedly only have eight or nine 'untransferable' players in their squad, with the Red Devils open to selling the vast majority of their current group if suitable offers were to arrive.
There is currently speculation surrounding the futures of Lisandro Martinez and Marcus Rashford, and it is understood that serious offers for the duo would be considered despite their status at Old Trafford.
According to German journalist Florian Plettenberg, only Amad Diallo, Kobbie Mainoo, Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt, Leny Yoro and Andre Onana, in addition to two or three more key players, are deemed to be unsellable.
Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund are likely to be in that list, in addition to Bruno Fernandes, although there were strong reports that the club captain could be sold during the recent transfer window.
'Elite talent' - Man United, Chelsea battling for £21m Premier League wonderkid?
Manchester United and Chelsea are reportedly prepared to battle a host of Premier League clubs for Southampton prodigy Tyler Dibling.
The 18-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in senior football this season, starring for the Saints as they struggle in the Premier League.
It has been reported that a numbers of clubs are monitoring the development of Dibling, including Aston Villa, who have likened the winger to former player and captain Jack Grealish.
The England Under-21 international has impressed massively with his performances in the top-flight so far, including during the Saints' 3-2 defeat to Liverpool on November 24.
How much? Kerkez price 'revealed' amid Real Madrid, Man United, Liverpool interest
Bournemouth reportedly value Milos Kerkez in excess of £40m, with the Cherries facing a battle to keep hold of the Hungary international beyond next summer's transfer window.
Kerkez moved to the Premier League from AZ Alkmaar in July 2023, and he has represented his current side on 48 occasions, scoring once and providing three assists.
The 21-year-old has been in impressive form this season, scoring once and providing two assists in 15 Premier League appearances, and he is believed to be on the radar of a number of major clubs.
Real Madrid, Manchester United and Liverpool are among the teams said to be keen on Kerkez, who has a contract at the Vitality Stadium until June 2028, placing Bournemouth in a strong position when it comes to his future.
Ruud to sign compatriot? Leicester, Brighton 'set to fight for Dutch prodigy'
Leicester City and Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly interested in signing Leuven midfielder Ezechiel Banzuzi.
The 19-year-old enjoyed a breakthrough campaign in the top flight of Belgian football last season, playing 40 competitive matches across all competitions.
Banzuzi has continued his swift development during the opening months of this campaign, scoring once and providing five assists from 16 Belgian Pro League appearances.
The towering midfielder also possesses relative international pedigree, having earned his maiden call-up for Netherlands Under-21s in the autumn.
Maresca updates Acheampong saga: Will Chelsea prospect start versus Astana?
Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca has delivered a positive update over the future of Josh Acheampong.
The academy star burst onto the scene at the end of last season when he was handed his Premier League debut during the closing stages of a crucial 2-0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge.
However, at the same time as speculation has mounted regarding interest from elsewhere, a long-term contract is still waiting to be penned.
As a result, the 18-year-old spent a period of being prevented from representing the senior or youth side, a realistic scenario emerging where he could be sold during the January transfer window.
Arsenal transfer exclusive: Tierney exit decision "nailed on" after Arteta lifeline
Arsenal defender Kieran Tierney will leave the club on loan until the end of the season in January if he manages to avoid another injury, Gunners expert Charles Watts has told Sports Mole.
The 27-year-old has not played a single minute for Mikel Arteta's side this season, having spent months recovering from the severe hamstring injury he sustained while playing for Scotland at Euro 2024, but he has been on the bench for their last four matches.
There is seemingly a good chance that Tierney will make his first appearance of the campaign against Monaco in Wednesday's Champions League clash, as Arteta is grappling with a defensive injury crisis and extended an olive branch to the defender in his pre-game press conference.
However, Watts has affirmed that Tierney's long-term future belongs away from the Emirates, and the club will look to shift him out temporarily over the winter before trying to find a buyer in the summer of 2025.
Back home? Former club 'plotting sensational move' for Chelsea star
Chelsea midfielder Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is reportedly wanted by Leicester City ahead of the January window.
The 26-year-old made the high-profile switch from the King Power Stadium to Stamford Bridge before the start of the 2024-25 Premier League campaign.
Forking out £30m for his services, it was expected that Chelsea would fully integrate Dewsbury-Hall into the first-team plans with Enzo Maresca in charge.
However, the midfielder has been limited to just five appearances in the Premier League so far, totalling a mere 56 minutes of top-flight action.
South American wonderkid 'on Man United's radar' with '£3.1m deal being discussed'
Manchester United are reportedly 'in active talks' with Cerro Porteno over a potential deal for Diego Leon.
The 17-year-old, who has turned out for Cerro Porteno's first team on 19 occasions, is regarded as one of the biggest young talents in South America, with a number of clubs believed to be interested in his signature.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Man United are in talks with the left-back's Paraguayan club over a £3.1m transfer, while discussions are also said to have taken place with Leon's agents.
Leon has been with Cerro Porteno since the age of 13, progressing through the various youth teams at the club before making his first-team debut in August 2024, and he has since become an important player for the Blue and Reds.
