Bristol Rovers have announced that Matty Taylor will join the club from July 1.
The striker is available on a free transfer when his contract with Forest Green expires at the end of the month.
The 24-year-old told BBC Radio Bristol: "I came and met the manager Darrell Clarke at the ground and he showed me the set-up. Everything he was saying sounded right for me.
"The club didn't do very well last season but they're looking to bounce straight back and I've got ambitions to play in the Football League."
Taylor scored six goals in seven appearances in a loan spell with Chester last season.
