Brommapojkarna could move as high as fourth in the Swedish Allsvenskan table by beating AIK Fotboll on Saturday.
The visitors, meanwhile, are second-bottom having failed to win any of their last nine matches.
Match preview
Having regularly bounced between Sweden's top two divisions since their first-ever promotion to the Allsvenskan in 2006, Brommapojkarna are aiming to establish themselves at the top level after winning the Superettan last season.
Former Aston Villa defender Olof Mellberg has been drafted in as the club's manager for the second time, with the 117-time Sweden international beginning his managerial career at Brommapojkarna eight years ago.
The 45-year-old has enjoyed a strong return to Bromma, which is situated within the western parts of the Stockholm municipality, winning six of his 12 league games in charge so far this season to guide them to sixth place in the table.
With a 12-point gap ahead of the relegation zone and their forthcoming opponents, Mellberg will sense an excellent opportunity to put even further distance between themselves and any danger, with survival still being their primary goal for the campaign for the time being.

AIK, meanwhile, would not have expected to find themselves towards the bottom of the table having finished a respectable fifth last season.
The 12-time champions, who most recently won the title in 2018 and hold the record for most seasons completed in the Swedish top flight, have not tasted victory since defeating Hammarby in mid-April, collecting just four points from their last nine games in the process.
As such, it is little surprise that their head coach Andreas Brannstrom is facing severe pressure, with his position at Friends Arena surely untenable if he can not turn things around sooner rather than later.
With his side four points adrift of safety already after only 12 games of the season, Gnaget need to start chewing on some positive results quickly if they are to save themselves from one of the most surprising demotions in recent times.
Team News
Brommapojkarna could bring Samuel Leach Holm back into their midfield area after only using the 25-year-old from the bench during their defeat to Hammarby last time out.
Kevin Ackermann would be the most likely candidate to make way, especially as his partner in the engine room Ludvig Fritzson looked to have claimed a point by equalising during the defeat.
AIK, meanwhile, have an embarrassment of riches to select from in comparison to their upcoming opponents, which makes their current predicament all the more perplexing.
Viktor Fischer and John Guidetti may be called upon from the start despite struggling to make an impact from the bench during the defeat to Elfsborg in their side's last match.
Brommapojkarna possible starting lineup:
Sidklev; Calisir, Sogaard, Heggem; Jensen, Holm, Ackermann, Soderstrom; Pettersson, Vasic, Cosic
AIK Fotboll possible starting lineup:
Nordfeldt; Modesto, Tihi, Papagiannopoulos, Ayari; Keita, Ali; Fischer, Thill, Magashy; Guidetti
We say: Brommapojkarna 1-2 AIK Fotboll
AIK's struggles surely have to come to an end at some point given the amount of individual talent that they have compared to most other teams in this division, with the three-week break in the season potentially coming at a good moment for them.
Brommapojkarna have punched above their weight following their promotion last season, but we can envisage the visitors' class shining through this weekend.
