Half-Time Report: Burnley, Bolton Wanderers goalless at the break

Sean Dyche's Burnley play out a goalless first half with Neil Lennon's Bolton Wanderers at Turf Moor, with Joey Barton going into the referee's notebook after 24 minutes.

Burnley and Bolton Wanderers have played out a goalless first half at Turf Moor.

Neil Danns saw an early effort tipped over the crossbar by Tom Heaton, following build-up play from Arsenal loanee Wellington Silva, Darren Pratley and Gary Madine.

Derik Osede cleared a dangerous Burnley ball into the box, with both Andre Gray and Sam Vokes waiting to pounce.

Silva continued to cause problems for the Burnley backline, as Joey Barton saw yellow for a foul on the youngster.

Jay Spearing, restored to the Trotters lineup by Neil Lennon, was forced off with an injury following a sliding tackle on George Boyd.

Scott Arfield went close for the home side in the dying minutes of the first half, fizzing a shot just beyond Ben Amos's post.
