Burnley deserved points, tweets Joey Barton

Joey Barton suggests that Queens Park Rangers were nowhere near Burnley who "deserved" their 2-0 win.

Queens Park Rangers midfielder Joey Barton revealed his disappointment with his side's defeat at Burnley.

Danny Ings's two goals were enough to condemn QPR to a first defeat of the season and stretch the Lancashire club's lead at the head of the Championship, and Barton suggested on his Twitter account that it was a worthy win.

He tweeted: "Congratulations to Burnley. Throughly deserved all 3 points today. Nowhere near good enough from us.

"Whats important now is the reaction to the defeat. Makes Wednesday nights game in hand at Wigan vital."

Barton was at fault for the second goal as he brought down Ings for the penalty which the Clarets forward duly converted.
