Kieran Trippier: 'Sean Dyche has improved my game'

Kieran Trippier believes that his defensive game has improved since Sean Dyche replaced Eddie Howe as Burnley manager.

Kieran Trippier has insisted that Burnley manager Sean Dyche has improved his game ahead of the reunion with former boss Eddie Howe on Saturday.

The 23-year-old admitted that Howe helped him become more of an attacking threat during his spell at Turf Moor, but believes that his game has reached new heights since Dyche arrived in October 2012.

"Eddie put a lot of trust in me and made me a proper attacking full-back. He helped me a lot," Trippier told reporters.

"But on the flip side I got caught too many times defensively when he was here. I'm not blaming him but when Sean came in, he realised that and sat me down, talked to me and took it out on the training ground.

"I just felt when I first came here, defensively I let myself down a hell of a lot. I was caught out too many times."

Burnely travel to Dean Court to face Howe's Bournemouth side on Saturday afternoon.
