Burnley are said to have turned down an approach from Besiktas for defender Ben Gibson.
The 26-year-old moved to Turf Moor in a £15m deal last summer but endured a difficult first season hampered by injuries, which restricted him to just a solitary appearance in the Premier League.
According to Sky Sports News, Turkish side Besiktas proposed a loan deal for the upcoming season coupled with an option to buy but were promptly rejected by Sean Dyche's side.
The player himself is thought to have been open to the move over concerns that he will be unable to force himself into Dyche's plans.
Gibson had previously been with boyhood club Middlesbrough - owned by his uncle Steve Gibson - where he racked up more than 200 appearances in nine seasons.
