Stephane Sessegnon is reportedly close to completing a free transfer to Burnley.
Clarets manager Sean Dyche claimed earlier this month that the Premier League club were keeping an eye on the former West Bromwich Albion midfielder.
Sessegnon, who has been without a club since leaving the Baggies at the end of the last season, had been on the verge of joining Montpellier.
According to L'Equipe, the Benin international has walked away from a two-year contract with the French outfit in order to return to England with Burnley.
The report adds that the 32-year-old is in advanced talks with the Clarets, who earned promotion to the top flight in May.
