League Two roundup: Fleetwood Town beat Bristol Rovers

Fleetwood Town, Scunthorpe United and Burton Albion all win on a good night for League Two's top clubs.

Fleetwood Town kept their hopes of automatic promotion alive with a comfortable 3-1 over Bristol Rovers in League Two.

Antoni Sarcevic and Mark Roberts put the Cod Army in control before the interval and with barely six minutes of the second half played David Ball put the result beyond doubt.

Unfortunately for the Flyde club, Scunthorpe United kept their own push for a top-three place alive with a win over Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road with Sam Winnall's brace giving the Yorkshire outfit the points.

Burton Albion stayed in fifth place with a narrow win over Wycombe Wanderers thanks to a solitary Adam McGurk strike.

However, Hartlepool United's hopes of landing a playoff place were dealt a blow by a second-half fight back from Mansfield Town, with Matt Rhead and Jamie McGuire scoring twice in the last 10 minutes to earn the Stags three points.

York City stayed in the playoff spots with a 1-0 win over bottom-of-the-table Torquay United thanks to Will Hayhurst's early strike.

Exeter City moved closer to safety by winning the Devon derby against Plymouth Argyle with Liam Sercombe and Elliot Richards netting second-half goals for the visitors to snatch victory.

Northampton Town looked set for three points over 10-man AFC Wimbledon as a result of Darren Carter's brace, but a strike from Sammy Moore in the depths of injury time was enough to earn a draw at Sixfields Stadium.

Accrington Stanley and Bury both picked up point to boost their survival hopes as they drew with Dagenham & Redbridge and Newport County respectively.
