League Two roundup: Fleetwood Town sink Portsmouth

Fleetwood Town ease past struggling Portsmouth and Hartlepool United thump Bristol Rovers in League Two.

Portsmouth's hopes of pulling away from the League Two relegation fight was dealt a blow as they fell to defeat at playoff-chasing Fleetwood Town.

Jon Parkin, Andoni Sarcevic and Jamille Matt all got on the scoresheet for the Fylde club as they beat Pompey 3-1 to move into fourth place.

Hartlepool United's own hopes of a playoff place were boosted with a thumping victory over Bristol Rovers at Victoria Park with Marlon Harewood's second-minute strike setting the North-East outfit on their way to three points.

Rochdale stayed in the automatic promotion places as they came from behind to beat struggling Accrington Stanley 2-1 at Spotland with Joe Bunney's stoppage-time goal proving enough to snatch victory.

Burton Albion's quest to reach League One next season was dealt a blow when Darren Jones's late strike gave AFC Wimbledon a point at the Pirelli Stadium.

York City moved into eighth place in the table with a stirring first-half display, goals from Ryan Bowman and Josh Carson earning them a win at home to Wycombe Wanderers.

At the bottom of League One, Torquay United were cast further adrift with Matt Richards netting Cheltenham Town the only goal of the game at Whaddon Road.

Northampton Town's own hopes of survival were boosted by a second-half Darren Carter penalty, which earned the Cobblers a point against 10-man Mansfield Town.

Elsewhere, Morecambe snatched a late point at Dagenham & Redbridge thanks to a Mark Hughes goal, while Southend United and Bury played out a goalless draw at Roots Hall.
