Swindon Town come back from a two-goal deficit to record draw with Bury

Strikes from two substitutes see Swindon Town come from two goals down to record a draw with promoted side Bury at Gigg Lane.

Swindon Town fought back from two goals down to salvage a 2-2 draw against Bury at Gigg Lane, courtesy of strikes from two substitutes.

Tom Pope rose highest to head in from a right-wing Joe Riley cross to give the promoted side the lead after four minutes.

Immediately following the Shakers' opening goal, Leon Clarke almost increased their lead but fired wide from close range.

Another Riley cross was caught by Swindon keeper Lawrence Vigoroux as Bury continued to attack.

Soon afterwards, Bury missed a penalty as Clarke hit the post from the spot, following a Vigouroux foul on the striker.

A 53rd-minute Danny Mayor strike from 18 yards saw Bury increase their lead to two goals.

Fabien Robert, who replaced Jonathan Obika soon after half time, gave the Robins a lifeline after 74 minutes by gathering Yaser Kasim's pass and finding the bottom corner.

Swindon then found an equaliser in the 83rd minute through substitute Anton Rodgers, whose free kick sailed past Christian Walton in the Bury goal.
