Cagliari striker Mauricio Pinilla has declared that he is delighted to repay the faith shown in him by the club after his match-winning brace against Inter Milan this afternoon.
Pinilla stuck twice after coming off the bench to help his side go 10th in Serie A with a 2-0 success.
The Chilean international believes that his side are now definitely safe from relegation and is pleased with his overall contribution to an important victory.
He told Sky Italia: "I'm happy here in Sardinia and I'm paying back the trust of the club.
"We have reached an important milestone, so happy for my teammates and for all.
"A few years ago I was close to returning to Inter but in the end did not do anything, any second adventure there does not depend on me."
The 29-year-old signed for Inter in 2003 but never played for the Nerazzurri and was immediately sent out on loan.
