Richard Money delighted by fighting spirit at Cambridge United

Richard Money praises the "great desire" shown by his Cambridge United side to turn around a two-goal deficit and earn a 2-2 draw away at York City.

Cambridge United boss Richard Money has put his side's battling 2-2 draw against York City down to the "never say die attitude" in the camp.

The U's trailed 2-0 at Bootham Crescent before Mark Roberts and Barry Corr hit back in the final 20 minutes to rescue a point.

Money was delighted with the attitude shown by United to prolong their current league run to one defeat in their last five outings.

"The players showed great desire and a never say die attitude to come back to 2-2 and in the end we probably should have won it," he told the club's official website.

"I was disappointed with what we did in the first hour, but very pleased with what we produced in the last 30 minutes. We are getting to know what we are capable in dribs and drabs, but exactly is difficult as we still have a number of players undercooked.

"We took a gamble to put Barry Corr, Ryan Donaldson and Jeff Hughes into the side together, because none of them have had a great deal of training. We have had to pick our time where we could reintroduce them to the side knowing that it would affect our ability to play at a high intensity for the full 90 minutes."

Next up for Cambridge is the visit of Portsmouth to the Abbey Stadium in five days' time.
